About Daniel Lane
Daniel Lane has covered rugby league since 1985 when he joined Rugby League Week straight out of high school. In 1990 his story on the abuse of drugs in top grade rugby league led to the introduction of random drug tests in the NSWRL. He covered the 1994 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain and France and won an Australian Sports Writer's Association award in 1986 for capturing the mood in the Western Suburbs dressing room at Lidcome Oval during the build up, the halftime break and the immediate aftermath of the Magpies loss to Penrith. He has written 11 books, Mark Geyer, Brad Clyde & Laurie Daley, Paul Sironen, Jarrod McCracken and Bill Harrigan are among his subjects.
Gasnier glitch
THE Rugby League International Federation could be forced to reshoot chunks of its World Cup TV advertisement if Mark Gasnier does what most fear and accepts a lucrative offer to play in the French rugby union competition.

WESTS legend Tom Raudonikis will be honoured for his services to
the Magpies before the Tigers-Storm match at Campbelltown Stadium
tomorrow night, but he's asked for the crowd to reserve a special
cheer for Wests Tigers skipper Brett Hodgson.
