Friday, Suncorp Stadium, 7.45pm
Referee: Sean Hampstead
The Broncos need to get back on track pretty soon or they will drop out of the top eight. After two straight losses, this game gives them the opportunity to get a much-needed win to boost their confidence. The Broncos are still without their inspirational five-eighth and captain, Darren Lockyer, but the Tigers are much worse off. They are reeling from an injury crisis at prop. The Tigers are a small team at the best of times, but with Todd Payten, Bryce Gibbs, Ryan O'Hara and Keith Galloway all out injured they look tiny.
The Eels made the Tigers pay for their lack of size when they thrashed them 44-6 last weekend and the Broncos are certainly capable of making them pay as well. It is going to take a huge-hearted effort from the Tigers to be competitive, but one thing they have got going for them is the lack of brilliance in the halves for the Broncos. If the Tigers can do a reasonable job of holding the Broncos in the forwards then Benji Marshall, Brett Hodgson and Robbie Farah can certainly do something in attack. But it is a big ask to go to Brisbane and win when you have got so many big boppers missing.
