Sunday, EnergyAustralia Stadium, 2pm
Referee: Ben Cummins
Must-win game for both teams. The 12th-placed Knights are three points out side of the top eight and the 14th-placed Rabbitohs are a further two points away. The Rabbitohs won five in a row to revive their season before Wests Tigers knocked them over last weekend. Now they have to regroup and this shapes as a very difficult match for them on the road. The Knights get their champion hooker, Danny Buderus, back from injury and that is a huge boost for them. They have battled on strongly without him, but have still only won one of their last three games and if they want to retain hopes of making the finals then they have got to get the job done at home in a game like this. The return of Buderus will take a lot of pressure off Kurt Gidley, who has been playing a hybrid role of dummy half in attack and fullback in defence while the captain has been out. Expect a big game from Gidley, who will be free to pick when he should join the attacking line.
The Rabbitohs have got the players to threaten the Knights. Their halves - Chris Sandow and Craig Wing - have been dangerous recently and forwards Roy Asotasi and John Sutton are capable of breaking the defensive line. But the team was scrappy against the Tigers and if they don't tighten up here the Knights, with their fast-paced, enthusiastic brand of football, will bend them backwards and finally run all over them.
