Intriguing clash between two teams in the hunt for the last few positions in the top eight. The Panthers are clinging to the last of those spots at the moment, but there are three teams only one point behind them and the Tigers are one of those. The Panthers were impressive in their 36-22 win on the road against Gold Coast last weekend, but there is still plenty of improvement left in them. They have been disappointing at home, where they have won just two games, drawn one and lost four, and this would be a great time for them to improve on that record.
The Tigers desperately needed to get a win last weekend and they did that against South Sydney, but they have struggled to get on a roll this season. Their form has been up and down and whether they will hold their form against the Panthers is anyone's guess. There is no shortage of matchwinners on either side, including Luke Lewis, Michael Jennings and Frank Pritchard for Penrith and Benji Marshall, Robbie Farah and Brett Hodgson for the Tigers. It will probably come down to which team wins the forward battle first and the Panthers appear to have an edge there.
