Sunday, Mt Smart Stadium, noon
Referee: Jared Maxwell

The Warriors are in the sort of form to at least give the Storm a contest. They have won three in a row to revive their hopes of making the finals and have a home record of 5-3 that ranks as the equal-fourth best in the competition. The Storm are only 4-4 away, but it must be pointed out that three of those away losses came in games immediately before State of Origin matches, when they were without nine or 10 of their stars. The last time the Warriors played one of the competition hot-shots at home they were very competitive against Manly before losing 20-14 five weeks ago. They haven't lost since and will be pumped up for this game because it is critical that they keep winning. So the Storm are going to have to be on their toes.

Melbourne have been gradually getting back to their best form after completing the difficult Origin period. They are expected to improve further here, but they will need to because this is bound to be a physical game as the Warriors try to establish an advantage through their big forward pack. The Storm played a very physical game against the Dragons on Monday night and now have to back up six days later, with travel included. Their record demands that they are favourites, but this could be a tough one for them.
