Greg Bird's agent may have violated his client's bail conditions when he visited the disgraced NRL star's girlfriend in hospital yesterday.
Police confirm they are reviewing the incident.
Gavin Orr visited Bird's girlfriend, Kathryn Milligan, at the Prince of Wales Hospital yesterday afternoon despite an order from the court forbidding Bird to contact his girlfriend, even through an intermediary.
Ms Milligan is considered a prosecution witness after Bird was charged with grievous bodily harming relating to the alleged glassing of Ms Milligan over the weekend.
When Mr Orr was confronted by a reporter and asked if he had communicated any message from Bird, he said "no".
"I'm here as her friend," he said.
Miranda Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Greg Bamford, said police were aware of yesterday's visit, and "were looking at all the incidences".
"We are reviewing the investigation," he said.
The latest development comes after Bird was suspended indefinitely from his NRL team, the Cronulla Sharks.
He was allegedly caught out trying to deceive police about an incident at the couple's Cronulla apartment early on Sunday.
Ms Milligan was admitted to hospital on Sunday with a fractured eye socket and cuts to her face.
A court heard on Monday that Bird had sent a text message to his friend and housemate, Brent Watson, asking him to take the blame for the incident.
"Something has happened to Katie - it was an accident," Bird allegedly told Mr Watson.
"There is blood everywhere in the unit. We have told the police it was you. How do you feel about that?"
Unfortunately for Bird, Mr Watson allegedly refused and told police he had not been at home when the incident occurred.
Bird is due to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court in October.
The maximum sentence for his charges is 25 years in prison.
