Scott easily brushes Watmough aside to score and give the visitors the perfect start. Jamie Soward fails to capitalise on the early try, hooking his conversion attempt to the right of the posts. 15th min TRY Sea Eagles hit back with winger David Williams finishing off a slick back-line move. NSW fullback Brett Stewart provides the try assist with a clever flick pass after making a dash for the corner. Matt Orford adds salt to the wound by kicking the conversion from the sideline. Sea Eagles 6 Dragons 4.

23rd min TRY Manly's Steve Menzies and Michael Robertson make a meal of trying to defuse a cross-field kick by Soward. Ben Hornby dives on the crumbs to score. Soward shows he learnt from his failed first conversion attempt to add the two points. Dragons 10 Sea Eagles 6.30th min A promising Dragons raid deep inside Manly territory comes to nought as Ben Creagh throws a forward pass to Jason Nightingale.

34th min TRY The Dragons pay for their poor ball control and fifth-straight turnover when Menzies throws a dummy to his left, then brushes aside a feeble attempted tackle by Soward to crash over. Orford converts to put the home side back in front. Sea Eagles 12 Dragons 10.

51st min Soward is knocked to the ground after being shoulder-charged late by Steve Matai. Play continues before a touch judge comes in to report the incident and Matai is penalised.

56th min TRY Nightingale given benefit of the doubt by video referee after coming down with the ball among a pack after a Soward kick to the corner. Once again, Soward fails to convert from out wide. Dragons 14 Sea Eagles 12.

66th min Menzies misses the chance to put Manly back in front, dropping the ball over the try line.

69th min TRY Stanley badly misreads a cross-field kick by Orford, allowing Robertson to take the ball and score in the corner, despite a desperate tackle by Mark Gasnier. Orford converts from the sideline. Sea Eagles 18 Dragons 14.

71st min Brett Stewart denied a try by video referee, who rules the fullback knocked on trying to ground the ball after chasing through a kick from Robertson.

75th min TRY The Morris brothers combine to bring the Dragons level. Josh Morris does the lead-up work, evading three defenders close to the line before off-loading to brother Brett, who dives over. Despite a poor night with the boot, Soward holds his nerve and slots the match-winning conversion. Dragons 20 Sea Eagles 18.
