MANLY coach Des Hasler is wary the twin withdrawals of Scott Prince and Ashley Harrison will inspire Gold Coast tonight at Skilled Park.

Prince broke his arm in Wednesday night's third Origin clash and Harrison suffered rib cartilage damage, less than a week after prop Luke Bailey was ruled out for the season. Brad Davis is Prince's likely replacement, with Daniel Conn likely to start at lock for Harrison.

"He [Prince] has been arguably the best player all year," Hasler said. "It's a real blow. I think it'll inspire them. I think they'll turn around and really dig in." Manly winger Michael Bani, chosen on a five-man bench, is a chance of playing.

Origin was also costly to the Dragons, with centre Matt Cooper ruled out of tomorrow night's clash with Newcastle after suffering a knee injury. Club officials maintain Mark Gasnier will not return from a back injury early, although Knights coach Brian Smith felt the injured skipper was a chance of playing. If he doesn't play, back-rower Chase Stanley may switch to centre.

Newcastle have lost prop Ben Cross for about a month to a grade-two medial ligament knee injury suffered in Origin. Cross also had X-rays on an injured thumb, which failed to show a break. However, he will have more scans today. Hooker Danny Buderus (knee) is also in doubt. Forward Dan Tolar is likely to replace Cross, with Scott Dureau likely to start at hooker if Buderus is out.

Michael Crocker (concussion) is the only one of Melbourne's nine Origin representatives said to be in doubt to play Canberra on Sunday. He will have tests today or tomorrow before a final decision is made. "We're expecting him to be fine to play," Storm high-performance manager Mary Toomey said.

The Raiders have placed Scott Logan on stand-by for captain Alan Tongue, who remains only an outside chance of playing due to a rib injury, while Marshall Chalk may replace back-rower Joe Picker (thigh).

Parramatta have suffered a blow, with second-rower Nathan Hindmarsh to sit out Sunday's clash with Penrith due to a foot injury. Weller Hauraki will come into the starting side, with Todd Lowrie the new player on the bench.

"It's just not worth trying to play with it," Eels coach Michael Hagan said of Hindmarsh. "He's been getting through a heap of work so hopefully a few other blokes will take up the slack."

Winger Jarryd Hayne suffered a slight neck strain on Wednesday night but should play. Tony Williams will drop out of the squad. There are question marks over Penrith players Tony Puletua (rib), Jarrod Sammut (hip) and Keith Peters (knee).

Bulldogs prop Jarrad Hickey (thigh) remains 50-50 to take on Souths on Monday night. The Rabbitohs are expected to be 1-17.
