Darren Lockyer's right knee is getting so famous it almost needs a manager of its own.
For the rest of his rather expensive frame, George Mimis is doing the talking.
And the influential player agent has soundly trod on rumours that Lockyer is set to join UK Super League powerhouse Wigan next year.
Mimis says Lockyer - dicky knee and all - will remain at Red Hill until his contract expires at the end of the 2009 season.
The visit to Australia this week of Wigan chairman Ian Lenegan has prompted a whirl of speculation that Lockyer is firmly in his sights as a straight swap for current five-eighth Trent Barrett, who is heading back to the NRL.
If an audacious raid was successful, Lockyer would be the biggest scalp ever claimed by Super League raiders.
Lockyer is contracted to Brisbane until the end of 2009 but Wigan's clear interest and continuing problems with his reconstructed knee sparked rumours he may ask Brisbane for an early release.
The Australian captain will undergo arthroscopic surgery in the next fortnight to alleviate persistent soreness in the troubled joint, forcing him out of Friday's Centenary Test and placing him in serious doubt for the Origin opener on May 21.
Brisbane chief executive Bruno Cullen has said the club wouldn't stand in Lockyer's way if he was presented with an offer too good to refuse. If Lockyer were to depart early, it would free up significant funds in Brisbane's stretched salary cap.
"It's real tricky with someone like Locky," Cullen said.
"You'd hate to let them go but at the end of the day, if a player like him who's given such good service ... if there's something that's fantastic for him for the next two, three or four years, you'd have to consider it.
"I'd hate that to sound like I'm suggesting Locky should do it, but he's been here close to 15 years. The last thing [Bennett's replacement Ivan] Henjak would need is for Locky to be taking off, but in saying that, he's only got a year to go and everyone moves on. Out of respect to Locky, we'd talk to him about what was on the table."
But Mimis described the notion as "fanciful" - a combination of media speculation and Super League clubs trying to raise their profile by linking their franchise with the Broncos superstar.
"Most of the Super League interest is fanciful and it happens every year. Locky's name is such a big name and such a big brand that it's an easy target for all Super League clubs to get a bit of publicity," Mimis said.
"I understand the owner of Wigan is coming here this week but Darren Lockyer is contracted to the Broncos until the end of '09 and nothing is about to change.
"I'm a bit bemused every time I read a story about Darren Lockyer and Super League for next year because it's not going to happen. Darren's contracted to the Broncos, he's happy at the Broncos and will be at the Broncos."
Mimis is meeting with Lenegan this week but insisted Lockyer's name wouldn't be on the table.
"I will be meeting with Ian but not about Darren Lockyer. I've already made that clear to everyone in Super League," Mimis said.
Mimis also represents Sharks halfback Brett Kimmorley, who may be shopped around after being told to find a new club.
Meanwhile, the future of in-form Broncos hooker Michael Ennis is still up in the air. Ennis, another in the Mimis stable, was yesterday linked to the Bulldogs but the agent said the prediction was premature.
"There's a range of options but we're certainly far from making a decision, let alone negotiating at any depth," Mimis said.
"He's yet to make any sort of clear direction of where he may or may not go. We're still in the early phases of assessing what's available."
