DRAGONS coach Nathan Brown put his players on notice ahead of next week's match against the Storm and warned that any credit they had accumulated from their seven-match winning streak was spent with yesterday's loss to Canberra.

Aside from star lock Ben Creagh, who is due to return from a quadriceps injury, Brown indicated he would take an unchanged side to Melbourne for next Monday night's clash with the premiers - consigning Wendell Sailor to at least one more week in the Queensland Cup.

But after admitting that the players had appeared flat at training in the lead-up to their home game against the Raiders, Brown said he wouldn't show the same loyalty the following week.

"We've had a good 10-week period where we've put a lot of wins together, which was obviously great, and as I said to the guys afterwards, while we're disappointed with what has happened today, after winning seven in a row everyone ... would be pretty happy with what the players have done," Brown said.

"But today was disappointing and next week we go to Melbourne with a clean slate, because everyone built up some brownie points and the money is out of the bank now, so next week is back to square one. If some blokes turn up like they did today, they just won't be there the following week, it's as simple as that."

After failing to capitalise on a number of early try-scoring opportunities, the Dragons conceded three quick tries to trail 14-0 after just 24 minutes and went further behind when Canberra's Adrian Purtell crossed again two minutes into the second term.

"We were a touch down on intensity, we trained like it during the week and we probably carried it into the game," Brown said.

"But you've got to give them [Canberra] a fair bit of credit, they played really well and they beat us on the ground - they were far, far better than us on the ground. Overall, I was a bit disappointed, but we've won seven and we've just got to start from scratch again."

Sailor, who helped Burleigh Bears to a comeback 36-22 defeat of Ipswich on Saturday, travelled to Wollongong yesterday to watch the game.

As he walked through the gate of WIN Stadium with wife Tara, Sailor was mobbed by children racing over to get his autograph or their photo taken with the dual international.

"I'm six from six," the winger said of the results of matches he has played in since returning to league after a two-year suspension for cocaine use. "We were down 16-0 and came back again to win so it was good. I enjoyed it."
