South Sydney coach Jason Taylor has had the Rothmans Medal he won as the competition's best-and-fairest player returned after it was stolen in a break-in at his home last month.

One of the players he coached at Parramatta last year - Mark Riddell - was instrumental in getting the medal back for the former halfback.

"'Pig' rang me on Tuesday to say he'd come up with the medal," Taylor said yesterday.

Riddell said he had received a tip-off that the medal had "popped up somewhere".
