WENDELL SAILOR believes his match-up against enigmatic Warriors winger Manu Vatuvei will be his biggest personal challenge since returning to rugby league.

"Big Dell" will take on the man dubbed "The Beast" today in what will probably be the last Wollongong match for departing St George Illawarra pair Mark Gasnier and Jason Ryles.

"Manu, he's a game breaker … when he's on, he can tear apart any team," Sailor said.

"He's one of the biggest wingers in the comp.

"Some people talk about the fact he drops the ball occasionally, but the problem is that when a bloke like him gets his game and confidence up, nothing can stop him.

"I admire the way he plays, I like him. I like the way he gets back on board.

"I remember against Parramatta he had a bad night, but he turned it around the next week and played some unreal football.

"That's what you want from a class player and that's certainly what he is.

"This is probably the biggest test since I came back to play league, to play someone of his calibre."

Vatuvei said he was expecting a torrid encounter - physically and verbally - against the 34-year-old former Wallaby.

"It's really exciting," Vatuvei said.

"Wendell is one of the guys that's been up there and marking up against him is a big thing.

"I have to play my game and hopefully get a try over him."
